Historical Information
From Allen Gibson’s “Churches by the Sea” we learn that the Granville Baptist Church originally served Parker’s Cove. In April of 1854, under the pastoral influence of J.B. Cogswell, a meeting house was erected and constituted. Rev. Isaiah Wallace is cited as being a spiritual influence for the congregation. As of 1970, the charge was served by Hillsburn. The original structure referred to above was dismantled in 1982, and in its place the new Parker’s Cove United Baptist Church was erected. Further additions to the church have been made in recent years. This church is affiliated with the Evangelical Fellowship Baptist Churches of Canada.
