What is the Atlantic Baptist Built Heritage Project?
In partnership with the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada, the Built Heritage Project is a catalogue of historic Baptist church buildings from across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. It includes photographs, historical descriptions, and key information for dozens of churches – some that are no longer standing, some that have been moved, and many that are still active today.
Our goal is to continue the story of these churches by documenting their rich history. We cannot preserve every building, but we can assemble a digital record of our built heritage to create an archive of these memories for use in scholarship, for research, and for the benefit of future generations.
