Historical Information

In March 1889, special meetings were being held at Lakebrook in a new meetinghouse which was dedicated on June 9, 1889. However, this church organized as Lakeville United Baptist Church in 1922, and at that time shared the services of the Parker’s Cove minister. The Baptist Church at Lakebrook originally formed as a result of the leadership of Lic. Henry Achilles, who ministered along the Bay of Fundy from Delap’s Cove to Young’s Cove. Achilles’ influence led to the organization of a church at Parker’s Cove, which later splintered and formed the Lakebrook Baptist Church. In June of 1924 Lakebrook was received into the Association. In 1953 the structure at Lakebrook was adjusted to increase the size of the building’s interior.
