Historical Information
The Lutz Mountain Church grew out of the Moncton First Baptist Church and was formally organized in 1850 as the Second Moncton Baptist Church. The church building, which has served as the Lutz Mountain Museum since 1975, was constructed in 1883.
In 1974, the congregation from Lutz Mountain amalgamated with the Gorge Baptist and Hildegarde Baptist congregations to form Hillside Church.
Note: In some historical documents, Lutz Mountain is referred to as Lutes Mountain.
