New Beginnings Christian Ministries has been housed in the New Beginnings Center since 2009. The congregation was formed by Pastor Neil Armstrong and congregants from Tremont, who wanted to see a Baptist Church in the Greenwood area. The structure was placed on land already owned by the Tremont Baptist Church, just north of the former Baptist parsonage lot where a DQ currently (2022) operates.
This building is used for more than just for Sunday services. It is a prime example of churches built in the twenty-first century having intended uses that extend further than just Sunday gatherings. It is a centrally located multi-purpose centre intended to be used by the whole community. The facilities include wi-fi, kitchen, moveable tables and chairs to seat 100+, children's room/nursery, conversation areas, small office for meetings / interviews, sound system, laptop and projector, and catering services. The building is fully wheelchair accessible and is all constructed on one level, making it level with the driveway. The building lacks many architectural detailing’s that are found on older Baptist churches in the region. All the trim boards and detailing’s on the interior are very plain. This was done on purpose to have people focus on what is being said during events rather than on the architectural beauty found in other buildings. In the main sanctuary space, the ceilings are rather high and reach the same height as the peak in the roof. This building is architecturally different from the other structures in the local landscape. The building’s exterior is covered in vinyl siding and asphalt shingles on the roof; both materials are original to the building.
