Historical Information

The Meadowvale Baptist Church began in a vacant schoolhouse which had originally served the communities of Meadowvale and Torbrook Mines. The building was officially converted into a house of worship and dedicated in 1898. The Meadowvale Baptist Church belonged to the Lower Aylesford Church pastorate, which included Greenwood, Harmony, Tremont, and Meadowvale. The pastorate later suffered from a split as a result of the presence of the new Independent Baptist Church, leaving the church at Meadowvale vacant. In 1944 the United Baptists sold the building and it was transformed into a private dwelling.
