Historical Information
Not unlike many other churches in Annapolis County, the church at Margaretsville stemmed out of the Nictaux Baptist Church. In 1829, congregants left the church at Nictaux and began a separate church known as the Aylesford-Wilmot Church. In 1852, Dr. Charles Tupper became pastor at Wilmot and his pastorate included Margaretsville. In 1881, Tupper’s successor Rev. William E. Hall became the first pastor of Margaretsville United Baptist Church. The church was officially dedicated in 1882.
