The Gospel Light Baptist Church in Harrietsfield, Nova Scotia, was formed around the year 2000. Prior to the construction of the structure the congregation owns, they rented facilities for roughly five years, and moved around frequently. The congregation began their services in a school in the area. Little is known about the early years of the congregation due to many of the early members leaving. Nothing is known about the construction of the church, but it is presumed that the congregation wanted a facility of their own to meet in, rather than continuing to rent space.

The Gospel Light Baptist Church is a rather plain, modern log construction, with a medium pitched roof and front entrance on the gable end of the building. There is a large overhang in the front of the building with exposed beams and decorative metal brackets that show the modern architecture of the structure. Inside, there are pine boards covering the walls and ceiling, making the building look and feel older than it really is. Rather than having pews, the church has modern chairs.
