Historical Information

East Point Baptist Church is known for its intricate and unique pattern of shingles, noticeable on the front façade of the church, around the nave window. It is on the extreme eastern part of Prince Edward Island, near Souris. The first church building that served the congregation beginning in1903, was in the Akron plan, a church style with Gothic details, favoured by Baptists and Methodists across Atlantic Canada, for their mid-nineteenth century church constructions.

This building was the third to serve the congregation of the Kingsboro Baptist., The first was a meeting house constructed in 1832, a larger church in 1864, one built in 1903 and most recently the one built in 2004.

On November 1, 2004, excavation work was started on the site, and the first service was held in the new building on June 19, 2005. On June 26, two services were held. The first was a de-commissioning service - the last in the old building. The second was the dedication in the new building.

The church now operates in conjunction with South Lake Christian Church.
