Historical Information

The planning for the Centerville Baptist Church started in 1986 after discussion within the congregation about the old Centerville Baptist Church (now known as the Faith Christian Center). The congregation that built the current church wanted a facility that had more parking, more room for classrooms, and was newer. This new building is 142 feet by 42 feet and is divided into classrooms. It has housed the Oceanview Christian Academy since 2016. Earl Goodwin, a local parishioner, drew up the plans for the church and they were finalized by Mr. Atkinson, an architect.

This building is a one-storey wooden framed structure with 11, 1 over 1 vinyl windows on the front of the structure. The main entrance is located on the right side of the front façade and has a small overhang, with sides, sheltering the door. A small saddleback steeple was placed on the main part of the structure and is situated off center.

This church houses the main congregation from the old Centerville Baptist Church. Some members from the old church stayed, obtained ownership, and formed the Faith Christian Centre, a non-denominational religious group.

Information provided by Deacon Earl Goodwin, new Centerville Baptist Church.
