Historical Information
Before becoming established as a Baptist congregation, the building that houses the Hillsburn United Baptist Church had been a division of the Sons of Temperance, whose charter dates from 1882. The Baptists began gathering in the building in 1911. The building was dedicated much later in 1955, upon the completion of extensive renovations to the structure. This renovation included the Temperance Hall moving onto a foundation, which was later torn down and replaced by the current structure in 1984.
