Historical Information
Stevens Road United Baptist Church was established in 1956 by the Home Mission Board of the United Baptist Convention of the Maritime Provinces (now known as the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada). The original 30 charter members were committed to building a welcoming environment where the people of the Woodlawn-Westphal area of Dartmouth could come together to hear the gospel of Christ.
This mid-century structure is made of red brick with a striking architecture embellishment on the front made of white steel and glass to form a cross on the front façade of the structure. This embellishment has now been replaced by a white cross surrounded by brick.
