Historical Information
A plaque on the grounds outside of the church indicates that the structure that is now Granville Beach Baptist Church was originally called Stoney Beach Church. Documents allude that the original building at Stoney Beach was constructed in 1796, later being replaced by the present meeting house built in 1833. The structure is wooden, with an extension on the rear of the building. Granville Beach had a significant impact as the parent church from which all other churches on the Lower Granville field can trace their beginning.
