Historical Information
The Port Hawkesbury United Baptist Church was constructed in 1974, the same year the congregation was formed.
This church is typical for its time in terms of size and style. It is constructed in the split-entry style. On the gable end that faces the nearby highway is a centrally placed cross shaped window. When you enter the church, you can either go up the stairs to the main sanctuary space, or down the stairs to the basement level, where there is a recreational space and kitchen area. The church has a saddle-back steeple placed near the front facade of the structure. The entrance is placed on the eave-side of the facility. On either side of the building there are four square windows in the sanctuary space, and three set close to the ground to the basement level.
The building is covered in white vinyl siding, and has brown asphalt shingles on the roof.
