Historical Information

The Victory Baptist Church was an independent Baptist congregation that met in the structure of a former United church. This Baptist church congregation later closed its doors and sold the building to the Atlantic Buddhist Meditation Centre, which currently (2022) uses the building.

This building is typical for its time in terms of style and architectural embellishments. The church is much longer than it is wide, and it positioned in the side of an embankment. The building has a centrally placed entranceway on the gable end that protrudes from the main structure. The building has a medium pitched roof, with a metal, saddleback steeple situated near the front of the building. On top of the steeple there is a small cross facing the road. On either side of the building there are five white, vinyl windows in the main level (sanctuary) as well as several windows on the basement level. The building has a cinderblock foundation; the exterior walls appear to be a type of metal siding and the roof has brown asphalt shingles on it. The steeple has wood cedar shakes on the sides, which were perhaps on the rest of the building at one time.

There appear to have been additions added to the building that are newer; these were most likely added after the Baptist congregation sold the building.
