Historical Information
United Baptist Church, a small wooden church, is a picturesque structure inspired by the Gothic Revival movement. It is located on Court Street in Grand Falls.
The congregation of this church was organized in 1864 and the church was later constructed in 1905. The architecture of Atlantic Canada’s Baptist churches was strongly influenced by the builders of ships and farms. The small, simple United Baptist Church was built in 1905 by the community and is still located on its original site. Its Picturesque architecture is suggestive of England’s Gothic Revival style and is a good example of rural religious architecture from the early 20th century in the Grand Falls area.
