Historical Information
Emmanuel Baptist Church was founded by a group from Highfield Baptist Church. The new independent, fundamental Baptist church began on January 28, 1958.
The congregation met in the Hillcrest School until a new building was constructed at the corner of McLaughlin Drive and Morton Avenue in 1962. A larger auditorium, Sunday School classrooms and Kindergarten were added in 1968. In 1975, a learning centre was added, and Emmanuel Baptist Christian School began. In the fall of 2001, Emmanuel Baptist Bible Institute was formed.
