Historical Information

Pastor Ron Ostten started First Bible Baptist Church in the Saint John area in September of 1971, meeting in a local Orangemen’s Hall.

The structure that houses the First Bible Baptist Church is a rather plain, one-and-a-half-storey wooden structure with a medium pitched roof. The building has black asphalt shingles and white vinyl siding. The main entrance to the building is centrally placed on the gable end and on either side of those double doors there is a decorative lattice. The building is longer than it is wide and contains five sets of windows evenly positioned along each side of the church. Between the windows on the first and second level there is different colored siding, which was a common architectural detail in the 1970’s and 1980’s. On the left side of the building there are two other entrances close to the front and back corners. The one near the front of the building appears to go to the main level and the entrance at the rear has a wheelchair ramp for the main sanctuary level.

This church is an independent Baptist church.
