Historical Information

Roseway Independent Baptist Church was formed in 2012 from the Chegoggin Baptist Church, formerly West Yarmouth United Baptist Church. This church was founded by members of the Chegoggin congregation who sought to open another church in Shelburne County. The founding pastor of this church was the longest serving pastor of the Chegoggin Baptist Church, Pastor Paul Parks. When Paul Parks founded the church he often was the minister for both Chegoggin and Roseway. Over the lifetime of the Roseway congregation there have been many years when they have been without a regular minister and had to rely on their mother church for Thursday and Sunday gatherings.

The original use for the building was a Seniors Centre, which had fallen into disrepair when Chegoggin Baptist bought and restored the building. Everything inside the building is new, except for the structural beams and some electrical wiring. The building is still owned by the Chegoggin Baptist Church.

This building is a wooden frame, one storey construction with a poured cement foundation and exterior basement entrance. The roof it a low pitch and has asphalt shingles on it. The main entrance is on the side of the building positioned on the middle of the façade and covered by a roof overhang. The siding is a light brown vinyl siding, and the buildings windows are all white vinyl.

Information provided by the Chegoggin Baptist Church.
