Historical Information
In 1841 a Methodist Chapel was built in Wood Point on land provided by Christopher Boultenhouse in 1838, and the Baptists used the building twice a month. In 1878 land was provided by Obediah Snowdon for a Baptist Church in Wood Point. The church was built and ready for service in September of 1879.
In 1949, the church was turned to face the road, and a front entrance was added. In 1965 a new basement was built, and a furnace installed. In 1982, Wood Point separated from sister church Main Street Baptist and chose to call a full-time pastor.
Wood Point is affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada.
